DBS PicoTXR

Wireless HD/HDR video transmission for drones and body-worn applications in an ultra-compact, lightweight form factor.

Capture impossible angles with low latency and Broadcast-quality performance.

WC Product Hero Picttxrfan

The DBS PicoTXR is a miniature COFDM (DVB-T) digital video transmitter designed for drones, POV cameras, and body-worn setups where weight and space are critical. It enables the robust transmission of an HD feed, including HDR, to a compatible receiver while maintaining low latency for real-time operation. It supports H.264 or HEVC encoding and accepts HD-SDI input, with HDMI available as an option, while carrying audio according to the input signal. It is the right choice when you need a stable RF link with Broadcast-quality performance, without compromising system mobility.

Main features

50 mW COFDM (DVB-T) transmission

Robust RF link for live video in demanding mobile scenarios.

Low-latency HD encoder (H.264 and HEVC)

Keeps the feed smooth for real-time production, with bitrate efficiency.

Up to 1080p60 with HDR support (HLG2020)

Delivers HD and HDR video in an ultra-compact transmitter.

Analog and embedded audio

Flexibility for different cameras and capture requirements.

UHF return link for camera control

Enables remote camera control through the system itself.

Main benefits

Angles that were previously impractical

Its ultra-light and compact design makes room for FPV drones and body-worn rigs without overloading the platform.

More quality without penalising the setup

HD and HDR with HEVC, while keeping power consumption below 4.5 W at 1080p60.

Safer live operation

Low latency reduces the risk of delayed decisions for both the director and the pilot/operator.

Simple integration into Broadcast workflows

SDI input and interface options make it easier to connect to existing cameras and infrastructures.

Less improvisation in the field

Integrated audio and camera control via UHF avoid extra accessories and simplify the kit.

HDR in 52 g, with camera control

The PicoTXR combines HDR (HLG2020), low latency, and a UHF return link in an ultra-compact transmitter, ideal for FPV drones and body-worn capture where every gram counts.

Video workflow and remote control with the DBS PicoTXR

HD/HDR video over COFDM and return link to adjust the camera in real time

On the drone, the PicoTXR receives the camera signal and sends the video over COFDM to a portable receiver on the ground, ready to be integrated into the production workflow. In parallel, the system allows control data to be sent back to the camera for adjustments such as image settings and remote operation during flight.

The result is a link designed for mobility: low-latency aerial capture, centralised monitoring and control, and greater predictability in line-of-sight operation, depending on the frequency plan and the environment.
